Questions...

Ok, I've decided to something a little bit risky. Muzbot did this a while ago, and at the time, I thought he was very brave. But I think the time is right for me to do it now, so here goes.

Feel free to ask me any question you want to - I will endeavour to answer as truthfully as possible.

Now, it's over to you...

I'll leave all the inappropriate and dirty questions to other people (which is so unlike me)... however, I'm wondering if there is any kind of story behind your blogging nom de plume?

Monty said...

Not a huge story. It's a derivation of my surname - and as a result, a nickname that I was given as a kid. Nothing too dramatic. :-)

what do you do with all your empty amyl nitrate bottles?

How do you solve a problem like Maria?

Antibiotics always work for me...

Ok. Here's my real question.

Everyone's got one so don't try and wriggle out of it by using McBrad as an excuse...

Everyone fancies someone that others may consider a bit of a weird choice, so they keep it secret to avoid condemnation from their friends and loved ones.
Who's your kinky crush?

Colin, one would think that the recycling bin would be the best option. That being said, you will have to ask McBrad that question...it's his responsibility :-)

Darth, interesting question. Can't identify any one specific person however I do have a thing for gingers! *blush*

I have a kinky question but won't dare to ask :-)

Keith, you can't just say that! Ask away...you never know, I may just answer it! ;-)

OK. I've just been out with some Australian chums and they've got me plastered. We chatted about bloggers and our reasons for blogging - they feel there's some kind of ulterior motive, a point of view I obviously corrected but... from them...

Which blogger would you do?

It's a cruel question I know, but McBrad isn't a blogger and there's someone holding a gun to head until you respond honestly...

Yowsers! I'm mean - don't answer.

Are you considering altering the name of your blog to "Much Ado About McBrad"?

I know, smart-arsed little prick aren't I!

Monty said...

Darth, I'd do you of course! LOL

Kezza, yeah, you are, but it's a fair point! I suppose although most of my posts are about McBrad, the focus of my blog is still very much all about ME ME ME - even when discussing McBrad, it's about how he makes me feel etc. So, for the time being, it's remaining Much Ado About Monty! :-)

I am impressed that you do not appear to resent your brother Mark [who has not outed himself to your parents and who therefore remains apparently in their good books] whereas you have been honest about your sexuality and told your parents [who now are not communicating with you] ... so my question is ... Dont you feel cheesed off about that ?

Monty said...

TomCat - no I don't. Whilst Mark is still in contact with our parents, the fact remains that he must live with the fact that they don't know the "real" Mark - they don't know about vital parts of his life and so he must continually be on guard with what he says to them to avoid being caught out. I lived like that for a few years with my parents (and friends etc) and in the end, I couldn't live with it and so consequently, outed myself, knowing the consequences of doing so. Mark obviously is OK with living like that, and that's fine by me. We are different personalities and deal with things differently, that's all. And the fact that he's still in contact with my parents means that he can keep me updated with what's happening in their lives which I appreciate. I also appreciate the fact that Mark has been a HUGE support for me since coming out.

Great answer ! Mature, wise, honest. It is an example of why we like you so much. Thanks. TC

1. Does Johnnie really exist or is he the result of someone's overactive imagination?

2. Do you still wear Pink Shirts on Thursdays. I'm no longer in the city on a Thursday to check!

3. Do you have a piece of paper with everyone's real names translated into their blog names for your blog? Whenever I catch up with you in real life I get very confused when you talk about McBrad using his real name and it takes me a second or two to make the connection!

4. Speaking of which, have you ever called McBrad McBrad to his face, and what does he think of his blog name?!

5. Is it rude and pushy of me to have asked 5 questions?! :)

Monty said...

1. I'm in the dark about him as much as you are.
2. Generally yes. It's become a habit now and I don't even really think about it.
3. No, I keep the translations in my head. I try to use a name that's fairly similar to the real name so it's easier to remember.
4. Yes, McBrad does know his online identity. He thought your adding of the "Mc" to his original online name of Brad was clever! :-)
5. Yes, but forgivable.
6. What the hell are you doing blogging at this time of day? Aren't you supposed to be busy learning how to set the table or something? ;-)

Tom said...

6. Brought to you by the magic of my iPhone. I can blog wherever whenever! Now go and service some clients or eat some cupcakes or whatever it is you should be doing rather than blogging! ;)

Monty said...

oooh, cupcakes, what a good idea! Might just pop down and buy me one or two...! :-)

PS It's Bank Holiday today

And you give ME a hard time about having time off! :P

Now that you're talking about cupcakes... what is your preferred flavour in the cupcake oeuvre?

Monty said...

I'm a bit of a traditionalist really...I was a HUGE fan (still am) of chocolate on chocolate, but I just discovered chocolate on vanilla! Yummmmmmmmo! :-)

I have a question...

Why was Keith's comment removed?

Ok, I've got another question too... What's your favorite holiday memory and why?

Monty said...

Muz, not sure why Keith removed it - in fact, I'm dying to find out what the question was now.
To answer your second question...there's probably two memories that stand out but I might actually do a post about them instead of writing it here.

Having read the blog over the months (yes it's true :-) I can only assume that McBrad either does not know it exists or is thoroughly disinterested in it and it's potential contents (and colour scheme :-) ??
