Incredible...

Just one of those things
When everything goes incredible
And all is beautiful
(Can’t get my head around, I need to think about it)
And one of those things
That used to get you down
Now have no effect at all
Cause life is beautiful
(Can’t get my head around it, I need to think about it)

Yes my dear readers, not only has Monty purchased Madge's latest album, Hard Candy (and is LOVING IT), but the words of "Incredible" are just about PERFECT in describing how I am feeling at the moment!

WARNING: The following paragraphs contain copious amounts of mushy stuff, so if you feel even slightly nauseous at me rambling on about how wonderful McBrad is, then please stop reading immediately!

Where do I start? I'm practically living at McBrad's - I spent 2 nights at home last week, the rest of the time at his. Went straight to his place after work Friday night as we were going to a birthday party of one of his friends'. That was a bit nerve-wracking, meeting his friends, but they were all very nice and friendly so it was a good evening. Saturday, we went shopping - McBrad recently purchased his house and so was needing a few bits and pieces of DIY hardware, so we hit Bunnings in a big way (along with most of the lesbian population of Sydney so it seemed)! And then, off to the Moore Park SuperCentre to have a look for a TV stand and some shelves - quite sucessful shopping. It was a quiet evening in on Saturday night, me snuggling with him watching a DVD - just my favourite pasttime at the moment! Sunday, we got to work on all the DIY projects - thankfully, being an Ikea aficionado from way back, I'm an expert at assembling flatpacked furniture and so whipped up the shelves in no time! After lunch, I went home as I really needed to do some washing and cleaning and needed to buy some groceries. I had planned on spending the night at home however he rang me while I was at Woolies and asked if I wanted to go over...don't you just love a man who can't get enough of you!!! As I was in grocery shopping mode, I suggested I make dinner, to which he agreed.

The weird thing was, the minute I arrived back at his place, I started feeling rather ill. Not sure why - I still don't understand and can't work out why - but by the time I served dinner, I was really not feeling like it. I forced a couple of mouthfuls down but then just raced to the loo and chucked the lot up! I felt like crap!!! But, McBrad, the gorgeous man that he is, was soooo lovely and caring. He suggested we watch one of my favourite movies - Moulin Rouge - which was very sweet of him and so that's what we did. And you know, no matter how awful I was feeling, being there in his arms whilst watching the movie was just the best! And even in bed, he was very considerate - I was going hot and cold and so when I was hot, I'd have half of me hanging out from underneath the covers over one side of the bed, but then when I was cold, I'd roll into the middle and he'd wrap his arms around me and snuggle close to warm me up. What a honey! What a man! What a boyfriend!!!

He let me sleep in yesterday and went to the gym - he was working from home yesterday - and so brought me some breakfast and coffee at about 11am. Was just what I needed...there is nothing better when you're feeling like death warmed up to have someone so wonderful looking after you!

OK, so I'm better now. Had lots of sleep yesterday and had a quiet night at home last night and slept all the way through. Missed him being next to me however. BUT, spending the rest of the week with my gorgeous man so I can't wait! I cannot believe how good this is feeling - everything feels right. It's amazing, everyone told me that "when it happens, you'll just know it" and "it'll happen when you least expect it" and you know what - they were all right!!! At the time, I wasn't particularly impressed with their advice, but in hindsight, they were smack bang on the mark! In fact, Bruce (with whom I've kept in contact) emailed me on Friday and said "Is it about now that we can all say, ‘told you so’ about waiting for the right one….?" and I had to reply "Yeah yeah yeah...enough of your smug comments!" - I could just see him smirking! But it's true! BLISSSSSSSSSSSSS...!!!

Where's the week gone...?`

I'm exhausted! This week has flown past and I've been absolutely flat out! It's been a fun week, but I still can't quite believe that it's Thursday night already! I've been going flat strap at work and I'm still struggling to finish everything I need to before COB tomorrow...but finish it I will.

It was great to meet up with Evan, McDreamy and Muzbot on Tuesday night - my three favourite friends in one place - how good can it get! Evan and McDreamy left around 9pm and then Muz and I got down to seriously deep stuff; we started talking about my parents' reaction to my coming out and even though it's been almost a year since then, it's still a topic that gets me emotional. I don't think Muz was expecting quite the reaction that I had, and to be honest, neither did I. I've been always quite good at compartmentalising my life, and so I generally just try not to think about my parents because it is still a very painful issue for me. But when I discussed it with my friend Jacqui several weeks ago, I burst into tears in the middle of Bar 333 on George St - not exactly what a 36 yr old guy would normally do. However, because I'd had this release, I thought when I was talking about it with Muz that I'd be in a better position to cope with it...but apparently not! But it was still good to talk to him about it, and I really appreciated his support. So the night was a really good one for me.

Last night, I caught up with C3 - he's been in the Simpson desert for the past couple of weeks and this was actually the first time we've met up face to face since we broke up. But it was really good actually - had some laughs and I caught him up on my past few weeks (Bruce and Sam).

And today, worked my arse off...didn't leave work until 8pm which is appalling for me! BUT only ONE DAY TO GO!!!!! And then I'm on holidays! Yay! Can't wait!

Back into it...with a vengeance...!

"What's he back into?" I hear you ask. Well, if you read my previous post, you'll have half an idea! Yep, that's right folks - Monty got himself laid over the weekend...a couple of times! Wahooooo!

During the week, I actually realized that I did have a backup plan - I just hadn't really thought about it as such. I met Harry months ago - during my slutty summer in fact - and we had a one night thing. He's quite an attractive English guy, about 5'11", reddish blonde, a bit reserved, here with work. He was not interested in relationships as such, which suited me fine in summer - it was a bit of fun and that was it. He very coincidentally sms'd me a couple of weeks ago, suggesting we meet up again and I had put him off (as I was deeply into Bruce at that stage). So it was simply a matter of texting him and lo and behold, he was on my door step Friday night! Wahooo! Drought broken! (well, maybe not exactly a drought, more just a 4 week dry spell)

Saturday, I was having a lazy'ish arvo at home, reading the paper when my friend DG rang and asked if I felt like going for a drive. It was a gorgeous day outside and so I was more than happy to do so. He rocked up in his brand new convertible Audi TT!!! Sensational!!! The top was down and we were motoring all over the North Shore, looking fabulous and enjoying the buckets of sunshine (and the admiring, if slightly envious, glances of fellow motorists)! It was a great afternoon; and it was lovely to catch up with him as well!
Saturday night, it was McDreamy's official birthday celebrations and I did him up an arrangment as my gift - this is a pic of it. Evan made us dinner (rather declicious too) and then we toddled over to the Newtown Hotel for drinks. We were met there by one of Evan's friends, Sam - a tall, hairy and quite attractive gent! I am still pondering as to whether this was a set up by Evan or not...hmmm... Anyway, we stayed there for quite a few drinks, chatting our heads off and enjoying McDreamy's great selection (well, with one exception that we won't mention) of music on the jukebox. We then grabbed ourselves a cab and hit Manacle, a reasonably benign (well, it seemed rather benign, apart from the chain web in the middle of the floor) leather bar in Sydney. McDreamy had, earlier in the week, promised to find me a leatherman to shag - frankly, whilst a man in leather is quite nice, I wasn't particularly fussy - I just wanted a man to shag! I don't quite remember how long we stayed there; I think we had a couple of drinks before McDreamy and Evan decided to leave. They walked out the door, and Sam and I looked at each other and without a word, just started snogging like there was no tomorrow!!! We finally came up for air about 5 minutes later and he said "I've been wanting to do that to you all evening!"...wahooo! Needless to say, I invited him back home and so I got my second shag for the weekend! Fantastic! He's a lovely guy (aren't they all?), interesting, with a good conversational style, very nice furrrrrry chest, and errr, well, lots of other good stuff!!!
He left around 9am yesterday (he had a swimming class to go to) and so I went straight back to bed and caught some more zzzzz's! Evan rang at around 12.30pm and after a quick shower, the boys collected me for our Spit Bridge to Manly walk. Another gorgeous afternoon spent with two wonderful friends; the harbour was at its most spectacular with all the sail boats out, the water was a magnificent cobalt blue fading to torquiose near the shore and clear as! The walk itself is 9.4km's, mostly through the Sydney Harbour National Park, but also through touches of suburbia, along some beaches, a couple of parks and some towering cliffs. We ended up at the Bavarian Beer Cafe in Manly, beers (or in the case of Evan, glass of rose) in hand, an early dinner with the sun setting over the water. Delightful! The pics are from our walk...

So an action (in more ways than one) packed weekend for Monty - good food, good friends, good shags and plenty of alcohol! Who could want for more? :-) he he he! I'm certainly back into it - with a vengeance. I think a slutty couple of weeks before I hit Europe is on the cards! Wahooooo!

A parting of ways...

It was bound to happen eventually...I went over to Bruce's on Wednesday night for dinner and for a chat. We had our chat and fundamentally, he told me that he didn't think "we" had a future as a couple, that whilst he really likes me, enjoys my company etc, I'm not Mr Right for him. It didn't really come as a great surprise, and I'd much prefer he told me that now, then allowing things to go along as they had. He felt the same - he didn't want to hurt me by stringing me along. He said I was "much too nice" for him and that I "deserved better" than him. He sent me a lovely email yesterday...

"I want to maintain our friendship. I REALLY enjoy your company and hope that in time we can become ‘family’….just my way of describing people that I have chosen to be part of my life forever.

I am glad that I met you [Monty]. And I am not going to disappear unless you need me to.

Now, go and get laid will you...!"

I really like Bruce, I had a great time getting to know him, spending time with him, and I thoroughly enjoyed sleeping with him!!! We had a great 4 weeks together, but now it's time to move on for both of us. He's going to start dating other guys, and I'm going to take his email advice and get laid!!! LOL

And the great thing is I've made myself another friend! I truly hope that we'll be able to build on the friendship that we've started. I suppose the only thing that did get me down a bit was the fact that I seem to have a knack for finding and falling for guys that end up wanting to be friends! BUT, if there's one thing that I've learned about myself over the past twelve months, it's that I'm a pretty resilliant kinda guy! A couple of nights of good sleep, a great night out last night (dinner, a few beers, a long chat and lots of laughs) with my mate Muzbot and I'm feeling fine! And ready to shag! The boys of Sydney...Watch out!!! he he he!

Quick update...

OK OK, I'm being harassed left right and centre about my, errrm, abstinent lifestyle with Bruce. It's now been 4 weeks since my last shag and I've decided that I'm going to have to get me a shag. It's not going to happen with Bruce; I just get the feeling he's not ready for it, and perhaps will never be, with me anyway. I think he's a smashing guy, but I think I shall have to wind back a bit on how much I see him. The thing is, when I am with him, I'm having fun, and don't mind just sleeping with him. But, yes, Monty is still human after all and has needs! So, if Bruce isn't going to put out, then I shall have to find me another man! Which means either hanging out in bars (soooo not appealing at the moment) or back to Gaydar dating. Alas, my useless PC at home has now officially carked it and so I can't log onto GD! Oh, the quandary!!! I have to take it to a man to fix this weekend, but until then, it's going to be a loooooong week! Thankfully, I'm seeing Bruce on Wednesday night which will be enough to keep me distracted, but will also increase the level of my ummm, need! Hmmmm, I think I should have had me a back-up plan!

APEC and other miscellaneous mutterings...

It's APEC week here in the Emerald City and nothing really seemed that different on Monday and Tuesday to be honest. However, today I walked out at lunch time and the city seemed so empty! Maybe everyone is busy protesting, maybe they're all just avoiding the city now that George W Bush (and his entourage) is in town. But it was very strange walking down the footpaths and in the stores without battling the usual lunchtime crowds.

This is dangerous for Monty, as I did go into Myer at lunchtime - I needed to purchase a relatively inexpensive photo frame and so thought one from Myer would do. I waltzed into Myer, up the mostly empty escalator, turned and my eyes fell upon a sign advertising a 20% discount on shoes! Well, a couple of hundred dollars later, I had purchased myself a pair of lovely black boots and I continued up the escalator. I did get my photo frame (also 25% off) but then, I wandered into the DVD/CD section (Myer is a department store for all of our non-Aussie readers). And so I ended up buying myself a CD as well. So, the plan had been a $12 photo frame and instead, $250 poorer, I walked out of the store! Don't you just love those expeditions!

Bruce update (yes, I know that's what you're really wanting to hear about) - we had a lovely night out last night - just had a bottle of wine with dinner at the White Horse Inn then toddled over to this smashing little Italian place for dessert (magnificent Panna Cotta) with a lovely Yalumba Botrytis Viognier. We then stumbled back to his place and went to bed. I think we've achieved quite a good equilibrium in our relationship now - we had a great night out, there's no awkwardness between us; in bed, we fit well together. It's funny, I normally sleep on the right hand side of the bed. So does Bruce. And so, whenever we've slept together (which is getting to be quite a lot of times), I've slept on the left hand side. Last night, he got in on the left hand side - and so I was quite excited about sleeping on the right hand side. But get this - I couldn't sleep! I was snuggled up to him (naturally) but just could not get comfortable. Half way through the night, he got up to go to the loo, and so I slid over to the other side and when he got back into bed, I snuggled back up to him and it just felt right this time. And of course, I went straight to sleep! I've realized that I can't sleep with him unless I'm on the left hand side of the bed! I can't believe this has happened, but it's amazing how it does! I've got to say, I've not enjoyed sleeping with someone more - and that is despite the fact that there's no shagging happening. In fact, I'm beginning to think it's because there's no shagging, that it's so good. It certainly gives our relationship a different dynamic - which is very much working for both of us.

PS...

I just thought I'd add a small'ish comment after receiving feedback last night and today about my post of yesterday. Firstly, I hope I didn't come across as being negative or distraught, as I'm not. Yes, I'd like to see more develop but I'm not desperate to have a boyfriend NOW! I am really really liking what Bruce and I currently have, and so Tom, I agree, no need to rush - I'm content to let things just happen or not happen as the case may be. Worst case, I've found myself a friend, best case...who knows! A snuggle buddy is a great thing to have and he's sensational at snuggling! Over the next four weeks, I look forward to getting to know him better and better and then, when I return, hopefully, we can resume where we left off and go from there!

Thanks everyone for your care and concern! But no need to worry! Monty is in a good space at the moment! :-)
And this is the picture that my employer has used for my internal Directory listing. Not sure whether I like it or not...

As Good As It Gets...?

This is a bit of a miscellaneous blog really, as there's a couple of things on my mind.

Firstly, I'm cheesed off with my home PC, as it's got narky and decided not to work! Extremely frustrating as I cannot now access my Hotmail account which is my main personal email address nor can I access Gaydar. This (GD) has not been as vital, as my time is otherwise occupied but still, I'm a popular boy - I like to keep my fingers in the dating pie so to speak.

Speaking of which, I had a lovely and most unexpectedly involved weekend with Bruce. Originally, we had intended on meeting up on Friday night - he had a work Do on, and I was attending a charity Trivia night with Evan and McDreamy and we were going to meet later on. As it turned out, his work Do was boring as, and so he came early and joined our Trivia table. And of course, won the major raffle prize (3 nights accommodation at some hotel on Bondi Beach) and a random prize (a champagne bucket). I got to keep the champers bucket! But I digress. Original plan was for me to spend Friday night at his place and that was it for the weekend - we weren't going to see one another after that. Saturday morning came and went with me still in his bed, eventually being dragged out at 12.15 for a shopping expedition in the city. Let me tell you, this man can shop!!! I'm a fan! And he loves my favourite store, David Jones'! What a man! He was originally going to drop me home after that however instead, invited me to go out with him to another charity thing that he was attending...believe it or not, another Trivia night! Not being one to pass up a Trivia night (and more particuarly, to spend more time with him), I agreed! Another fun night was had and again, I fully expected him to drop me home afterwards. But, he suggested I stay the night with him and I wasn't going to say no to an offer like that. Sunday morning was another highly pleasant sleep-in, followed by a stroll around Surry Hills and another bout of retail therapy! I ended up buying myself this funky hat which I am quite excited about now! He eventually dropped me back at my house, wearing mostly his clothes (as I hadn't been prepared for an all weekend stay) at around 2pm yesterday. It was such a lovely day that I then toddled on down to my local park and read the paper in the warm Spring sun. A perfect end to the weekend!

BUT, and there's a "but", whilst it was a very very good weekend, we did have a big chat on Saturday morning whilst lying in bed. He sincerely feels that he cannot give me any more than he is currently giving, which, for all intents and purposes, is a friendship with snuggling benefits. He doesn't think that he's able to embark on a romantic relationship with anyone at the moment and as much as he really likes me, does want to be upfront with me in this respect. Naturally, I'd like more with him as I am really attracted to him, and he knows that. But, after the debacle that was the Gent in Question in May/June, I have been quite cautious in opening up my emotions to early in the piece (and having them somewhat exploited). And so, I haven't been as affected as on previous occasions. He did fully expect that I wouldn't want to see him again, however I do actually like him - I think he's a great guy! I really get on with him, enjoy his company, his sense of humour, and his very hot body! he he he! I was only thinking this yesterday - with all the other guys that I've spent a weekend with, by the end of the weekend, I'm really feeling the need for some space, some Monty time. With Bruce, there wasn't that feeling at all...I would have happily stayed with him on Sunday, happily slept over Sunday night - I just am really relaxed around him! So, I am very open to continuing our friendship "as is". I think that what we have is as good as it's going to get and to be honest, I can't be unhappy with that. I would love it to be more, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. He's concerned that my friends will think that he's taking advantage of me, in not allowing me to find a "real" boyfriend. But, I'm not particularly concerned about that...I have only 4 weeks to go before I go overseas and so I don't want to embark on a new relationship at this late stage. I'd much prefer to keep things as they are with him, our Friends with (snuggling) Benefits relationship and once I return from O/S, then start thinking about dating again. He's worried that our relationship is somewhat unorthodox, but you know, I've lived a very orthodox life up until a year ago, and so I don't really mind if it's a bit out there! Who cares! I've found a lovely guy, whose company I enjoy, who's fabulous to sleep with, who doesn't seem to mind hanging around me and who is, for want of a better description, a Clayton's boyfriend...the boyfriend you have when you don't have a boyfriend. Perfect for me at the moment, with my lack of motivation to date and limited timeframe. And the fact that we're not shagging isn't even particuarly worrying me either! Who'd have thought!!! It's been 3 weeks without it and I'm coping remarkably well!

So that's about it for the moment. I have had an awesome weekend, this week is a short one and this weekend is a long one! We're (McDreamy, Evan and myself and quite possibly Bruce) going down the coast to the beach house, and if the weather's like it was this past weekend, it will be FABULOUS!!!

Eating badly...

...but enjoying it! Regular readers of my blog will know that I have a slim build - I've regarded it as a curse all of my life but of recent years, it has become somewhat of a blessing. Only about 2 years ago, I finally achieved what I had strived for all my adult life...a 30 inch waist! You have no idea how exciting that was for me...finally able to buy jeans, shorts, trousers and suits off the rack, without the need for alterations, with plenty of choice as well! And about 18 months ago, I finally hit my minimum weight for height! Another exciting milestone in my skinny life! I think that my lightning fast metabolism is finally starting to slow down to just be really fast instead and so as a consequence, I've actually been able to put on some weight instead of burning it off like I've always done.

I know this is probably sounding like everyone's dream "problem" - the inability to put on weight, but I've hated being skinny all my life and would still prefer to be a bit more built. But I have long resigned myself to having a slim build and the more guys I meet, the more I appreciate it. So many guys are regular gym bunnies, watching what they eat, jogging every week etc and I just meander through life, eating whatever I like and doing very little meaningful exercise.

And this week has been a perfect example of my bad eating habits...Monday night, I cooked myself a delicious spag bol and of course, piled it high with parmesan cheese, topped off with a glass of lovely 2004 Barossa Shiraz. Tuesday night, ahhhh Tuesday night...was the night I spent with the lovely Bruce and we had pizza for dinner (OK, it was gourmet pizza but it was still covered in yoghurt and cheese and stuff). Last night, Bruce came over to my place for dinner and as I had lots of leftover spag bol sauce, I just whipped up some more pasta and we consumed that, again augmented with a glass (or two) of wine. Tonight, I'm going home and making one of my favourite quick and easy dinners...parmesan pasta. Basically, you melt a tablespoon of butter, throw in a small carton of double cream, bring it almost to the boil, add a handful of grated parmesan cheese, some chopped up parsley, salt and pepper to taste and that's it...it's fundamentally heart attack pasta....and my goodness, it's magnificent! Mama mia! And with a nice oaky chardonnay...perfetto! So it's been pizza and pasta all week so far!

So as you can see, counting calories is not my forte! Wouldn't know a calorie if I fell over it! They just do not figure in my life!

But, speaking of the lovely Bruce (I'm sure we were), last night was another highly pleasant evening. He hadn't intended coming over...he rang me after work for our usual daily chat and had told me he planned to stay home and catch up on some work. I simply suggested he come over for some spag bol (not thinking he would) and he capitulated without the slightest attempt of resistance! This was very unexpected and so I tore around the apartment cleaning up (which certainly burned some of the aforesaid calories I'm sure), had a quick shower, threw on some shorts and a t-shirt, just in time for his arrival. And it was another relaxing evening spent chatting, eating, drinking, watching my favourite show, Spicks and Specs, and a little bit of snogging....he is such a good kisser!!!!!! Unfortunately, he had an early morning appointment so he didn't stay over...sigh...

But, I'll be seeing him tomorrow night AND staying over at his place for our first ever sleep-in on Saturday morning...all our previous sleepovers have been on a school night and so we've been getting up at 6am so that we can both make it to work in time. So I am really looking forward to a semi-lazy sleep-in with the very hot and exceptionally sexy Bruce!

Over the moon...

As you may have seen in Muzbot's blog, last night was a full lunar eclipse which made it a blood moon as well. What a night...

I collected Bruce from his place and we drove over to South Head about 7.30pm. The moon was already well and truly eclipsing at that stage, which was pretty freaky but also really cool. I had a bottle of champers as well and so we found ourselves a dark little spot on the lawn on the cliff's edge, put down the picnic blanket and sat there and sipped our champers! The weather was delightful - I was just wearing jeans and a shirt and felt comfortable. I did end up putting my jacket on later in the evening (as did Bruce) but for an August night, it was extemely balmy. We sat there and chatted for a couple of hours and watched the moon get progressively darker and redder (though, I would call it more ochre than red). And it was a great conversation - we really started getting into some very personal stuff which was great - and we relaxed into each other so that by the end, we were just sitting there, holding hands, my head on his shoulder.

We went back to his place after that, ordered a pizza and consumed that very quickly and then at about 10pm, went to bed. We kept talking in the dark - it's funny how being in the dark allows you to say stuff you can't say normally - and the more I talk to him, the more I respect him and admire him. And, for the first time, I fell asleep in his arms...very literally in his arms. I cannot describe how good it felt when I woke sometime through the night and I was still in his arms...and then I just drifted off again...

The more I see of him, the more I like him...and I have no doubt that there is going to be some challenging stuff ahead for both of us. He's been badly scarred by his previous 11 yr relationship - by the emotional crap that he went through in the relationship and the acrimonious break up as well - and it's bound to raise its head at some stage. I know he doesn't feel like he's able to give me the level of emotional commitment that he feels I need, but for me, I am just so so so enjoying this that I'm pretty happy with how things are going! It will be a slow process, there's no doubt, but I really don't mind...I think he's just a terrific guy, with a beautiful heart and so I'm prepared to put in the hard yards.

You've Got Mail...

I found myself unexpectedly at home this evening (Saturday). And so, thought it would be a good opportunity to catch up on some DVD's and bad take-away food. So I toddled off to the video store (why do we still call it a Video store when it doesn't actually have videos?) and rented myself a couple of DVD's, purchased a tub of chocolate icecream, and then drove to KFC and got myself a really unhealthy serve of fried chicken and the delicious KFC chips and came back home! It was going to be the perfect night in!

As it turned out, I flicked on the TV and an ad for the night's movie was on..."You've Got Mail" starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. I saw this movie when it came out - I think it must've been 1998/99 - and I loved it at the time. It was at the time when email was really becoming entrenched in life and the internet was passing from that interesting but useless phase into a quite handy tool to have. And that movie opened my mind the world of internet dating! It's your very typical Hollywood romantic comedy, but I still thought it was awesome. I actually went out and bought the soundtrack to remind me of the movie!

But I haven't seen it since, and so when I saw it advertised tonight, I thought, hang the DVD's - I'll watch the TV movie! It's soooo perfect, the way everything works out - and of course, it only ever happens like that in the movie. But I've talked to so many guys who keep saying that you'll never find love over the 'net, only sex. But, to be honest, I would like to believe that love can be found on the 'net, just as it can be found across a crowded nightclub, or in a pub, or at a friend's dinner party - it's just one of the tools that you use to meet guys. It's happened for my lovely friend Evan - he met McDreamy via Gaydar. In fact, I was having dinner with him on Thursday night and he told me how much he loved McDreamy. This is nothing new to me, he tells me that all the time. I had lunch with McDreamy today and you know what, he told me how much he loves Evan. This is also nothing new to me. These two guys have met and have clicked and it's fantastic to see their relationship grow and develop. I am constantly telling them that they give me hope that I too will be able to find a guy that I can love, and that will love me back. And watching the movie tonight, well, it was lovely! A fairytale - yes - but still, I would like to believe that it is possible! Naive - perhaps - but hey, I'm a hopeless romantic!

And so, I'll persist with Gaydar for the time being. At the moment, I'm not doing a lot with it, as I'm rather taken with Bruce, and who knows what will happen. I'm trying to be sensible about it, taking it one day at a time - don't want to run too far ahead of myself. But, I'm open to all possibilities with him so we'll see how it goes. He's away this weekend as well, and it's killing me! I can't wait to see him again. What's worse, he's out of mobile range, so I can't even talk or text him! Arghhhh! So, bring on the end of the weekend, when I can at least talk to him again, or better still, see him! I must say, it's wreaking havoc with my work - I'm tired all the time as I don't really sleep that much when I'm with him and I am easily distracted by his emails and texts.

Anyway, it's now 1:10am Sunday morning and my bed (and all the lovely new linen) is calling me. I do hope everyone else is having themselves a great weekend!

Falling...

I received an email this morning from Bruce..."I really enjoyed your company last night and waking up beside you this morning." Now this may not seem like a particularly exciting or romantic statement, but he's not one who overflows with protestations of love! So, when I received the email this morning, I melted!

He's intent on dating me the old-fashioned way...to get to know me as a person, rather than just get caught up in the physical side of things. This may surprise many of you, but we haven't actually shagged yet. We've spent 4 of the past 7 nights together however we have just slept (as in the actual act of closing ones eyes) together on these occasions. This has been difficult, as you could imagine, because I am deeply attracted to him and the physical contact in bed certainly produces quite obvious results. But, I've actually started enjoying the fact that he wants to focus on our fledgling friendship/relationship instead of just doing the usual thing and shagging first, asking questions later. I like cuddling him while we chat on the couch, I like snuggling with him in bed...but I really like the fact that he rings me each day just to have a chat, even if we are seeing each other that night. This is a gentleman that I could seriously fall for...

Bruce...

Well, he's hot as, a very sweet man, and when I mentioned that I blog and that I needed a nom de plume for him, he requested BRUCE! So, Bruce it is.

He was away for the weekend, which made it drag somewhat...thankfully, I had my shopping expedition on Saturday, Single Guy's birthday party on Saturday night, and Sunday martini's with my mate Muzbot to keep me occupied. But, I staggered home at 7.30pm Sunday and he sent me a message..."I'm on my way over". Bliss! It was soooo lovely to see him again - we just sat on the couch, consumed a bottle of Shiraz Viognier and chatted for a couple of hours. I then suggested he view my new bedroom linen and so he did...and it passed muster with him! yay!

Needless to say, I was a little tired on Monday, but I was one happy little vegemite! He was even more tired, but he invited me to dinner at his place and so I toddled on over last night and spent a very relaxing and really domestic evening with him. And then he coughed up with the "Bruce" comment. OK, it's not my favourite name, but thankfully, it's not his real name. I actually really really like his name, it suits him perfectly.

Tonight, I'm going home and sleeping - having had very little sleep over the past two nights! He is similarly shattered! But we have a dinner date tomorrow night which is very exciting!

I can't believe how much I'm gushing over him actually...I emailed my lovely friend Evan on Monday and the whole flipping email was about how wonderful "Bruce" was, how sweet he is, how HOT he is, blah blah blah, but I could not help myself! This is really not good...I need to get a handle on myself and control my emotions. . . it's just so damn difficult! ...sigh...

Needless to say, all other dates have been cancelled! Monty is smitten!
